MFR (Myofascial release), Pain Management

Got an achey back? Whether you are struggling with upper, mid, lower or full-back pain: this class is aimed to bring you some relief through MFR and a few gentle yoga poses. The first 10 or so minutes is me explaining what is happening with MFR, contraindications, telling you what equipment you need, and other very important information (you should watch this first part your first time taking this class, but if you repeat it you can skip it). The rest of the class is a very thorough process of slowly releasing tension int he fascia all along your back (and a few surrounding areas), and we do end with a proper savasana. Grab your MFR balls, foam roller, and blocks. If you don't have these things, I do give options to do most of the moves with a rolled up thick blanket (but for real, you should buy the balls). This class made me feel so much better in my own body, and I hope it does the same for you.

Vinyasa, Yoga with the Elements

In the second class of my mini series Yoga with the Elements, I introduce you to the element of water. The water element is energetically known to invoke care, compassion, patience, deep feeling, adaptability, creativity, and openness to change. Water also reminds us the importance of keeping things moving so we don't get stagnant in the body or the mind. This vinyasa practice is designed to keep you flowing and to find fluidity in your body, especially in transition between postures. Everywhere in the body does get a little love in this dynamic practice as we explore vinyasa variations, side planks, standing postures and balance poses, hip opening, and some opportunities for deep backbends / heart opening postures. A juicy balance between flexibility and strength in this intermediate level practice. You will need two yoga blocks for practice, and maybe some padding for your knees.

Let's Talk Yoga Props!

Let's Talk Yoga Props!
In this video I talk the ins-and-outs of YOGA PROPS! What do you really need for yoga practice? What is worth investing real money in, and what is totally fine to go with the cheaper option? What props are better for different styles of practice? What yoga toys look fun, but are really unnecessary? I dive into all of this and more in this 30 minute chat video. Hilariously, I forgot to mention one of the most important props: a yoga strap! I don't discuss this with the other 2 essential props I mention, but take it from me here: you want a yoga strap. It doesn't matter what kind, you can get the cheapest one you can find even. Besides that silly miss, this is a very thorough exploration of yoga props and toys. I hope you enjoy this informative video!
